Demba Ba has spoken out regarding Steven Gerrard’s infamous slip that ended Liverpool’s title hopes, expressing his lack of bother by fans taunting the Reds captain, in an interview with FourFourTwo.

The Senegal international all but ended Liverpool’s title hopes last season when, with just three games to go and the Reds on an 11 game winning run, captain Steven Gerrard slipped on the stroke of half-time, allowing Ba to burst forward and score to make it 1-0. However hard they tried – the Reds just couldn’t get back into the match.
Since the slip the former England captain has suffered a torrent of abuse from football fans across the Premier League – with a ‘comical’ rewording of the famous Steven Gerrard chant commonplace on terraces.
The Besiktas striker has discussed the sense of humour of English football fans, and isn’t bothered by the fans mockery of the Anfield hero:
“They intend to mock Steven, rather than praise me. English people have a great sense of humour. They love doing this and it doesn’t bother me at all,” the 29-year-old said.
Ba signed for Chelsea in January 2013 but had a frustrating season and a half with the West London club scoring just seven goals, admitting that his time with the Blues was difficult.
“I had beautiful, sad, frustrating, and tough moments at Chelsea. But now I’m far away from those days. I try to forget the bad memories and remember good ones.”
Nevertheless, Chelsea fans, and Premier League followers, will always remember the Senegalese for his part in the unforgettable Gerrard slip.
