The 33-year-old joined the Red Devils on an 18-month deal earlier in January, where he has been told that he can expect to play number two to current first choice stopper David de Gea.

However, he will likely be given the chance to impress under the Friday night lights, in what will be his first game since suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury with Barcelona early last year.

United boss Louie Van Gaal is eager to bag some silverware in his first season at the helm, but has identified this clash as the ideal opportunity to give the Spanish international his first taste of English football.
