Paulista has confirmed that talks between the Gunners and his agent are underway and it would be a dream come true for the 24 year old if he is to make a move to the Premier League.
“If I go to Arsenal it will be excellent. But if it’s not finalised then I am relaxed. I am focused on my work here,” as quoted by the Telegraph.
“My agent is working on making sure I continue being calm. Playing in the Premier League is one of my dreams. I have spoken to my agent about this.”
Arsene Wenger will be keen to capitalise on the Villarreal star’s eagerness for a move in a bid to boost the Gunners’ defensive worries.
However, the North London club will have to part with forward Joel Campbell as the Spanish side want the 22 year old as part of the deal – reports the Guardian.
The transfer may also be problematic through work-permit concerns with the defender having not played for the Brazil national team and not holding an EU passport.
