Manchester United transfer news
The Serbian international, formerly of Manchester City, has signed a new contract with La Viola, keeping him at the club until 2019 and appearing to end speculation surrounding his future.
Savic had supposedly come onto United’s radar as Louis van Gaal searches for new signings in defence this winter, with Pique now seemingly one of his top targets instead.
The Spanish international had a spell at Old Trafford earlier in his career as a youngster, but left in 2008 to rejoin his boyhood club Barcelona, where he has gone on to become one of the best centre-backs in the world.
Pique has won four La Liga titles with the Catalan giants, as well as two successes in the Champions League and both World Cup and European Championship glory with his national side in recent years.
