Arsenal are close to making their first signing of the window, but is he the player they really need?
Arsenal look to be on the verge of completing their first signing of the January transfer window, with 17-year-old Krystian Bielik set to join the club for a reported £2.4m, reports the Guardian.
There are fears among fans that this will be Arsenal’s only midfield signing this winter, and that Arsene Wenger will be looking to youth once again.

Here are six more experienced players Arsenal should be targeting:
6) William Carvalho – Sporting Lisbon
A player that has been linked to Arsenal for a long time now, the powerful midfielder would certainly add some steel to the midfield.
At 22-years old he already has a fair amount of first team experience, and could prove to be a long term solution to the Gunners’ midfield problems.
5) Yohan Cabaye – PSG
Not the most defensively minded player, but arguably the kind of player Arsene Wenger is more likely to sign.
He has struggled to make an impact since his return to France, and could be available on the cheap.
4) Nilton – Cruzeiro
Not yet a household name, Nilton could prove to be a slightly cheaper option for Arsene Wenger this January.
The Brazilian has been compared to former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva, and boasts the qualities required to succeed in the Premier League.
He has been heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan, so if Wenger wants him he will have to move quickly.
3) Grzegorz Krychowiak – Sevilla
The Polish international has been lighting up La Liga since his summer move to Sevilla, and would be a superb signing for Arsenal.
The Spanish club are unlikely to want to sell, but a big enough offer could prise him away.
2) Lars Bender – Bayer Leverkusen
A long term target for the Gunners, and a player Arsene Wenger admires hugely.
Arsenal have looked to bring him to the Emirates in the past, but Leverkusen have been unwilling to sell.
1) Morgan Schneiderlin – Southampton
There is no question that the Frenchman is, or at the very least should be, Arsenal’s top target. He has shown at times this season just why he is so highly coveted, and he would be the perfect signing for the Gunners.
He may not be available this January however, so Arsene Wenger may have to wait until the summer to get his man.
