Arsenal’s wage bill has increased with their latest arrivals yet their finances remain healthy
The Gunner’s annual wage bill is up by around eight percent – reaching £166.4m in the last year.
The arrivals of big summer signings Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck has resulted in the rise, yet Arsenal’s finances remain in good condition given boss Arsene Wenger is a thoughtful spender – and importantly – unafraid of selling star players such as Robin van Persie and Samir Nasri.

Like Arsenal, Chelsea’s wage bill has increased by eight percent, reaching a reported £190.5m compared to last year’s £176m. The arrivals of Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa resulting in the rise.
Chelsea have also spent a sizeable £62m on acquiring new players.

Manchester City aren’t afraid to spend big to get big
Manchester City’s wage bill is an astonishing £205m – but unbelievably their wage bill has actually shrunk by 12% from last year’s £233m.
The departure of five first-team players in the summer helped The Citizens to reduce their wage budget by approximately £28m.

Manchester United top the list with an incredible £214.8m wage bill.
The poor performances of the Red Devils since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure has forced the club into spending big – becoming the Premier League’s new chief spenders – increasing their wage by an astonishing 17% from the previous year.
Van Gaal has spent a believed £120m on new signings, such as di Maria and Falcao who have arrived on huge salaries. Not to mention Wayne Rooney’s reported £300,000 per week wage contributed to the rise.
