Wenger looking to improve his defensive options.
Spanish journalist Kike Marin has confirmed that Arsenal are indeed in the hunt for Espanyol defender Hector Moreno and the Spanish club are willing to sell.
Earlier reports suggested the Gunners had sent chief scout Brain McDermott to watch the Mexican international against Valencia in a Copa del Rey tie on Tuesday night.
And Marin, who writes for Spanish news source El Confidecial, says the North Londoners are indeed interested in the centr- back and Espanyol are ready to sell him.
However, it remains to be seen whether a deal can be struck.

The Gunners will, however, face stiff competitions for the defender’s signature with Tottenham Hotspur also thought to be particularly keen to sign him.
Their North London rivals may have the edge with Moreno working under Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino during his time as Espanyol coach.
However, Wenger will be determined to get defensive reinforcements for his squad this transfer window after right back Mathieu Debuchy suffered a serious shoulder injury, that could keep him out for three months, at the weekend.
