The Bernabeu supremo is no doubt on the alert following speculation that the Argentine international is unhappy with life at the Nou Camp but even then there is surely little or no chance the 27 year old would consider a move from Barcelona to their arch rivals.

This source states that only two sides are capable of signing Messi, Real Madrid and Man United, citing UEFA’s FFP (Financial Fair Play) guidelines all but ending any hope of the likes of Chelsea and Man City being able to meet the cost of such a deal without leading to negative repercussions with football’s European governing body.

The chances of Barcelona considering offers for Messi are of course further dented by the fact that the La Liga side can not sign any players in 2015 due to having been handed a FIFA transfer ban.

Talk of such a move may well have been heightened by comments made by Cristiano Ronaldo following his Ballon d’Or triumph earlier this week, during which he stated his desire to play alongside the Barca man.
