Tan made himself unpopular with the fans at the Cardiff City Stadium when he decided to change the colour 0f the home jersey in 2012 after 114 years, because he believed red to be ‘lucky.’

The badge was also altered, with the blue bird – which gives its name to the club’s nickname – being removed in favour of a Welsh dragon.

However, despite previously stating that he would never change the shirts back, Tan has given into fan demand and it’s thought the Bluebirds will wear blue when they play Fulham on Saturday.

Chairman Mehmet Dalman and the chief executive Ken Choo met with supporters, MPs and local business leaders on Thursday and during what was described as an ’emotional’ meeting they were convinced that a reversal of the decision was the best way forward.

Manager Russell Slade is sure to be pleased with the news as he has been caught up in the row between the owner and the fans ever since taking the position after leaving Leyton Orient.

Season ticket sales have been down and supporters boycotted the recent FA Cup Third Round victory over Colchester United, with the average attendance dropping from 20,000 to just 4,000.
