The 36 year old Ivory Coast international rejoing the Blues last July on a one year deal and is tipped to remain at the west London club in a coaching capacity though now MLS side Portland Timbers have registered their interest in the experienced forward.
Portland Timbers owner Merritt Paulson is keen to make Drogba the last high-profile MLS addition, stating;
“Drogba is a unique guy who, despite his age, is uniquely skilled to clean up in MLS,” he said.
“The MLS almost signed him a couple years ago and I know my coach would love him to be a Timber, but I highly doubt it at this point.”
Drogba has been of real use in a cameo supporting role this term, netting six goals despite starting just seven fixtures.
