Chelsea transfer news
The 27-year-old’s future at the Nou Camp looks in serious doubt after a disappointing season in which he looks to have fallen out with manager Luis Enrique.
Speculation has been growing that Messi is considering leaving the club he has been with for his entire career, with Chelsea on alert despite Jose Mourinho ruling out a move for the player back in November.
The Blues are said to be willing to pay a mammoth £200m to sign Messi, which would smash the previous world transfer record that Real Madrid paid Tottenham Hotspur for Gareth Bale in the summer of 2013.
It is thought that Messi’s issues with Enrique are likely to lead to the Spaniard’s dismissal as manager, but Chelsea will be waiting in the wings if he does decide to quit Barca in the summer.
