The 25-year-old has had a difficult time at the Etihad Stadium, barely featuring for the club since joining from Swansea City in 2012, whilst also failing to impress in a loan spell with West Bromwich Albion last term.
Still, Villa seem ready to take a gamble on Sinclair this winter and want to bring him to the club on a permanent basis, despite the player supposedly preferring a loan move.
The likes of Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers have also shown an interest in the former Chelsea youngster, who has already played for eleven different clubs in a nomadic career so far.
Villa have had a poor season this year and are in desperate need of more inspiration in attack, with Paul Lambert identifying Sinclair as a player who could provide some spark and pace at that end of the pitch.
