The Etihad Stadium side are putting together a £50m package for the 26 year old Ivory Coast international, with £30m put aside as a bid for the Liberty Stadium ace and £20m for the player’s wages and signing on fee.
Manuel Pellegrini has seen his attack decimated with injuries at periods this term with the likes of Edin Dzeko, Sergio Aguero and Stevan Jovetic all spending time on the sidelines, leading to youngster José Ángel Pozo being used on occasion.
Indeed such were the Premier League title holders difficulties in the striking department that Pellegrini had to field James Milner in a makeshift role late last year and as such it’s no huge surprise the club would look to sign a marksman this month.
Bony has proven a big hit since his club record £12m move to Swansea City, racking up 25 goals in 43 Premier League starts.
