Manchester City Target Belgian Wonderkid Dennis Praet

City set to move for the Anderlecht prospect.

Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City are set to move for exciting young Anderlecht playmaker Dennis Praet in the January transfer window, report the Mail, with City believing that the Belgian wonderkid would prove to be a wise investment for around £10 million as they look to plan around UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.

Praet has impressed twice against Arsenal in the Champions League this season with his creativity and passing ability, playing as an attacking midfielder in the Anderlecht system, and City believe that Praet is capable of stepping into a Premier League team who want to win the title and making a significant positive impact.

The report suggests that Anderlecht rate Praet at around £10m, which is a significant amount of money but not a bank breaking fee for a club like City, and is the sort of deal that they are likely to have to approach if they are to stay within the financial rules imposed by UEFA.

Praet also represents a type of player that City do not really have beyond David Silva, who is one of the finest number tens in the Premier League, with Sami Nasri and Jesus Navas generally more effective when operating from wide positions.
