The Ligue 1 side are ready to offload the South American pair and Brendan Rodgers has taken an interest in both as he looks to strengthen his misfiring attack.
Both players were due back from their winter break on December 28th but didn’t arrive until January 2nd and both players will be fined and banned and could be on their way out for the right price.
Uruguayan forward Cavani has had to get used to playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, frequently being used in an unfamiliar wide-attacking role and Rodgers could see the former Napoli man as an ideal player to boost his attack with the likes of Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert both failing to fill the void left by Luis Suarez’s departure.
Lavezzi offers another versatile option, the Argentine able to play out wide or in a central striking role, and the 29 year old would certainly be the cheaper of the two.
