Luke Bryant, 25, from Lymington in Hampshire is said to have broken the laws outlined in the 1991 Football Offences Act by taking to the technical area and going up to Wenger.
Mr Bryant will appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on January 22.
The incident occurred with Wenger’s Gunners side losing to their hosts and comes just weeks after the Frenchman was abused by supporters as he left Stoke City’s Britannia Stadium.
As is almost tradition every season now, many unhappy fans want the 65-year-old to leave the North London club for what they perceive as poor form from their team.
Wenger was the subject of a campaign to force him out of the Emirates Stadium earlier in 2014/15 as well when a ‘Wenger Out’ banner was revealed during the match at West Bromwich Albion.
However, more positive results in recent times have dampened these critics, but watching the Saints stretch their lead into the Champions League places by three points on Thursday was clearly too much for one supporter.
