Gunners considering move for St. Etienne captain Loic Perrin.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is actively considering a move for experienced St. Etienne captain Loic Perrin, report the Telegraph, after the Frenchman was handed a transfer budget in the region of £20 million to strengthen in January, leading Wenger to focus primarily on defensive targets to add more depth in that area of the pitch.

Perrin is widely regarded as one of the most determined and consistent performers in Ligue 1 and has become synonymous with St. Etienne, one of France’s biggest and most well supported clubs, with the 29 year-old having spent his entire career with Les Verds.
He could be tempted by a new challenge, however, with St. Etienne having been knocked out of the Europa League following a disappointing group stage campaign that saw them fail to win a match and included numerous 0-0 draws, whilst the hopes of Champions League qualification through the league are fading fast.
Perrin would represent a perfect option for Arsenal in the January window due to his ability to play both at centre back and in holding midfield, two positions that the Gunners’ season so far has demonstrated that they desperately need to strengthen – meaning that signing Perrin could allow Arsene Wenger to kill two birds with one stone.
