The Red Devils failed to capitalise on a good first half performance at White Hart Lane, and struggled in the second half to make any incisive moves against Spurs. The 63-year-old has blamed the sluggish end to the game on the amount of matches that teams have to play over the festive period.
He claimed that 48 hours is not enough time for a squad to recover from a game. The Dutchman has already mentioned his problems with the busy December fixture list, and seems unlikely to let people forget that he disagrees with it.
“The second half was a struggle. You can see the players can’t recover in two days. It was an ugly match. We played very well in the first half, but [if] you don’t score goals, you cannot win,” the former Barcelona boss commented.
“I said it already before the matches, but okay. It’s a culture of England. I think the human body cannot recover within 48 hours, and you have seen that the second half was a struggle.”
