Tottenham Hotspur are considering selling Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor to fund a mega-money move for Porto’s Colombian goal machine Jackson Martinez, according to The Express.

Martinez has already scored 15 goals this season, in just 18 Primeira Liga and Champions League games.

The 28-year-old, who scored 25 goals for club and country last term, is one of the world’s most in-demand strikers.

However, it is thought that he would be interested in joining Spurs.

The main stumbling block would be Porto’s £40m asking price.

Tottenham currently have three senior strikers on their books.

Local lad Harry Kane is thriving during his first full season in the first team, but Soldado and Adebayor are both troubled.

Soldado is low on confidence and has scored just three goals in 18 appearances this season, while Adebayor recently required a leave of absence, amid talk that his mother had placed a curse on him.

It is being reported that Spurs are considering selling their two struggling frontmen, which would shave £10.8m off their yearly wage bill.

That would leave them in a much healthier position to bid for Martinez, although it would probably force them into the loan market for a new third choice striker as well.
