With Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, and Mesut Ozil all sidelined with injury at the moment, the Gunners could do with reinforcements in midfield. At 20-years-old Calhanoglu is a fantastic young talent, and could provide something Arsenal have been missing for a while.
The Bayer Leverkusen star is an excellent player, but has one talent that stands head and shoulders above the rest; his free kicks.
Arsenal rely on their fast and free flowing football, but have consistently failed to make the most of set-pieces. If their opposition is able to break up the play with regular niggling fouls, then the Gunners often find it difficult to create chances.
They need someone who poses enough of a threat from set-pieces, that they will put their opponents off the idea of committing a foul in a dangerous area; Calhanoglu could be that player.
