The on-loan AS Monaco man has struggled with injuries for much of the season so far, though he has also struggled to impress in his limited first-team opportunities at Old Trafford.
With just the one goal to his name so far this season, Falcao has been dropped by van Gaal and replaced by James Wilson in recent games, with the youngster handed a surprise start at home to Liverpool this weekend.
Former Newcastle United and Colombia forward Faustino Asprilla believes there may be a personal problem between the pair that is leading to Falcao being on the bench, with Wilson not exactly justifying his place in the team with his performance against the Reds yesterday.
“Seeing how Wilson plays, you can conclude that Van Gaal has personal problems with Falcao. Manchester should consider this,” Asprilla tweeted.
