The Daily Mail claim that the Russian Premier League side are ready to consider offers for Brazilian international Romulo but want £8m plus forward Yaya Sanogo on a loan deal.
By all accounts the young French striker isn’t all that keen on moving to Moscow but on paper it’s a deal that seems very reasonable, especially given Arsene Wenger’s urgent need to bring in a strong defensive midfielder.
24 year old Romulo has been likened to former Arsenal skipper Gilberto Silva and is said to be keen on moving to the north London side, with the two teams already discussing the terms of such a deal.
Arsene Wenger feels a move for Romulo would prove more cost effective then his continued pursuit of Everton’s James McCarthy.
Whilst Sanogo may not be keen on a move to Spartak it’s likely Wenger can persuade the 21 year old it’s for the greater good, not just in relation to the swap deal but also to help the former Auxerre man get some much needed senior football under his belt.
