QPR manager Harry Redknapp has insisted there is no truth in the rumours he’s looking at possible moves for Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane in the January transfer window.

Defoe was continually linked with a move back to London in the summer despite signing a four year deal for MLS side Toronto FC in February this year.

Another former Premier League striker, Robbie Keane, has also been linked with a return to England but in his weekly press conference Harry Redknapp denied he had made enquires for the two players but did admit he was looking for additions to QPRs squad when the winter transfer window opens.

“We’ve not made an enquiry for Robbie Keane. I’ve not spoken to Jermain Defoe either,” said Harry Redknapp.

“If we can get one or two players in that would be great. We certainly need a couple of additions in January.”

Redknapp has previously managed Defoe at several clubs. After handing the Englishman his debut in 1999 at West Ham, he signed him for Portsmouth in 2008, and again at Spurs a year later.

Redknapp admits QPR tried to convince Defoe to move back to London in August but wage demands put the protracted move on ice.

In Keane’s case, the Hoops boss insisted the players parent club, LA Galaxy, would be unwilling to let their captain leave on a loan deal in 2015 despite the player hinting at the possibility this week.

“He’s a fantastic footballer but we haven’t made an enquiry about him.  He belongs to LA and they’re not going to let him go,” said Redknapp.
