Walcott has only recently returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines, with the Arsenal man out for nearly ten months with an ACL injury.

Having made his return to action with a ten minute cameo against Burnley in the Premier League however, he then went on to pick up a groin injury while training with the international side.

Wenger claims the 25-year-old will be out of action for at least another week, meaning he will miss the Gunners’ Premier League clash with Stoke City as well as their final Champions League group stage match against Galatasaray.

“He has an injection today so he will not play. Galatasaray is also too early,” Wenger said.

The England international has been vitally important to the North London club over the last season or two, with very little pace in other areas of the pitch. While that is no longer such a problem for Arsene Wenger’s side, Gooners will still be hoping Walcott makes his return sooner rather than later.
