10) Jan Vertonghen – Tottenham Hotspur

The Dutch defender is regularly linked with moves to clubs like Barcelona, but it’s hard to see why when he plays like he has this season. Loic Remy gave the centre-back a torrid time in his 30 minute cameo at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night, roasting him for pace then shunting him to the ground with ease.

9) Vito Mannone – Sunderland

The goalkeeper made a series of awful blunders against Southampton in his side’s 8-0 loss, but Gustavo Poyet kept faith with the Italian in the Mackems’ next game.

Unfortunately Mannone then made another series of awful blunders, and was finally dropped for Costel Pantilimon.

8) Dwight Gayle – Crystal Palace

The forward scored a great goal against Liverpool last week, but has lost his place in Neil Warnock’s side. Despite being Palace’s top goalscorer last season, the speedy attacker has been playing less and less in recent weeks, and could be set for a move in the summer.

7) Junior Hoilett – QPR

The winger was given a 4.4 rating in a West London paper after his performance against Swansea City last month, so it’s no surprise that he has barely played since.

6) Emmanuel Riviere – Newcastle United

The striker arrived in Newcastle surrounded by a lot of hype but failed to find the net in six starts at the beginning of the season. He has since been dropped, and 18-year-old Ayoze Perez has jumped ahead of the Frenchman in the queue for minutes.

5) Tim Howard – Everton

Howard was beaten at his near post by Sone Aluko’s shot on Wednesday, the latest in a series of errors that have Everton fans seriously worried about their keeper’s future.

4) Roberto Soldado – Tottenham Hotspur

The joy that engulfed Tottenham after Soldado’s goal last week should tell you everything you need to know about the striker’s season, which has picked up where it left off last term – very, very badly.

3) Mario Balotelli – Liverpool

After a painfully poor start to the season, Balotelli has lost his place in the Liverpool side to Rickie Lambert, a sentence very few people thought they would be writing 12 months ago.

2) Dejan Lovren – Liverpool

After a painfully poor start to the season, Lovren has lost his place in the Liverpool side to Kolo Toure, a sentence very few people thought they would be writing 12 months ago.

1) Simon Mignolet – Liverpool

After a painfully poor start to the season, Mignolet has somehow retained his place in the Liverpool, presumably because the only other option is Brad Jones.
