The Gunners look in desperate need of new additions in the middle of the park after losing both Jack Wilshere and Mikel Arteta to injury, with the former unlikely to play again this season until as late on as March.
Sissoko has been in fine form for Newcastle this season, playing a major role in their rise up the Premier League table, and he has been linked with big clubs in the past.
The 25-year-old, who has won 27 caps for France, is a superb box-t0-box player equally capable at the back and in joining in the attack, and his style of play could fit Arsenal perfectly as well as addressing their most pressing needs at the moment.
A number of other big names have also been linked with moves to the Emirates Stadium this winter, with another Premier League star, Everton’s James McCarthy, also supposedly on Arsene Wenger’s radar.
Sissoko would make a great signing as well, however, and may be available for slightly cheaper in the upcoming transfer window.
