12) Xabi Alonso (Bayern Munich)
Formerly of Liverpool, Xabi Alonso is still going strong with Bayern Munich and remains one of the top midfield playmakers in Europe.

A highly entertaining and skillful forward, Dimitar Berbatov still has something to offer Premier League fans after some fine displays in Ligue 1.

A player who has improved immensely since his departure from Arsenal, Real Sociedad striker Carlos Vela could make a top signing for most Premier League clubs at the moment.
9) Demba Ba (Besiktas)
An under-rated striker, Demba Ba was allowed to leave Chelsea this season without being given much of a chance at Stamford Bridge, but he could make a great signing for other English sides if he ever came back, with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Newcastle United said to be interested.

Although he only spent one fairly unconvincing season with Manchester City, Jerome Boateng is now a top player for Bayern Munich and Germany, and it would be great to see him try his luck with Premier League football again.

Although an unpredictable character, Carlos Tevez was one of the best strikers in the Premier League on his day, and has been performing superbly for Juventus since leaving Manchester City.

A great battler and leader in midfield or defence, former Liverpool star Javier Mascherano would be welcomed back to England if he decides to leave Barcelona.
5) Yohan Cabaye (Paris Saint-Germain)
A player who only left Newcastle United last January, Yohan Cabaye is already being linked with a return to the Premier League with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, as he previously shone brightly in English football.

A player who never made it at Manchester United as a youngster, Paul Pogba is now considered world class after his progress with Juventus, and would be a great addition to any top Premier League side, with Chelsea and Manchester City among those watching him.

A delightfully skillful playmaker, Luka Modric was superb in his Tottenham days and has continued to impress with Real Madrid. A key player for the Spanish giants, it seems unlikely that he’ll leave anytime soon, though it would be great to have him back in the Premier League.

A world class forward, Gareth Bale has lived up the hype with Real Madrid after his world-record move from Tottenham. Recently linked with Manchester United and Chelsea, it would be a huge boost to bring the Welshman back to these shores.

A Manchester United legend, Cristiano Ronaldo has taken his game to a whole new level with Real Madrid, and while they would surely never sell him, it would be great to see him back in England.
