Jordan Henderson is a fitness doubt, and Daniel Sturridge has aggravated his thigh problem, the Liverpool Echo reports.
Mario Balotelli also was sent home from international duty early, meaning Brendan Rodgers has a difficult task selecting a side to face Crystal Palace at the weekend.
Here’s how the Reds are likely to line up.
GK) Simon Mignolet
The Belgian is certain to start between the sticks barring injury.
DR) Glen Johnson
Javier Manquillo is also competing for this spot, but Johnson is arguably the favourite.
DL) Alberto Moreno
Jose Enrique’s been struggling with a knee injury, meaning the summer signing should get the nod at left-back.
DC) Martin Skrtel
Rodgers almost always chooses Skrtel when fit, and the trip to Palace should be no different.
DC) Dejan Lovren
Mamadou Sakho is returning from injury, but the £20m summer signing should retain his place.
DMC) Steven Gerrard
Gerrard anchors the side from the base of midfield.
MC) Emre Can
Can scored last time out, and played very well against Chelsea. He should keep his spot as a result.
MC) Coutinho
In Jordan Henderson’s absence, the Brazilian magician or Welshman Joe Allen could play as part of a central midfield three.
AMR) Raheem Sterling
Sterling’s more effective centrally or on the left – but due to injuries, the right-wing looks more likely.
AML) Adam Lallana
Lallana did very well for England during the international break, and is likely to slot in on the left wing.
FC) Rickie Lambert
With Sturridge out, and Balotelli doubtful – Lambert and Fabio Borini are effectively competing for a loan striker role. We think the summer signing might get the nod.
