Aaron Ramsey
The Welshman was sublime during 2013/14. He scored, created, and provided a real dynamic influence in the centre of the park, but this term, he’s properly gone off the boil. It’s already practically impossible for him to match his 16 goal tally from last campaign.
Romelu Lukaku
The Belgian powerhouse did so well for the Toffees last season on loan that they spent £27m on him, making the forward their most expensive ever player by some distance. However, four Premier League goals in 11 games is by no means sensational form for a striker so expensive.
Steven Gerrard
Gerrard’s age is catching up with him. The captain was excellent in a deep-lying midfield role in 2013/14, but teams are now man-marking him, and he hasn’t been allowed time and space to dictate tempo. As a result, he’s not had many good matches all season.
Yaya Toure
The Ivorian was a whirling dervish of goals, assists and passes last term, and he was easily Man City’s best player as the Sky Blues won the title. He notched an incredible 18 top flight goals, but has only managed one this campaign, and has looked lethargic in possession.
Christian Eriksen
Spurs’ best player last time around, the Danish playmaker has not been able to have the same creative effect. His set-pieces were especially brilliant last season, but he’s yet to assist a single goal so far.
Rickie Lambert
Last term, Lambert reached double figures for both Premier League goals and Premier League assists, and was considered a snip at £4m as a result. Since moving to Liverpool though, he hasn’t found the back of the net, or registered an assist, once.
