Arsenal Keen On “New Aguero”
The Costa Rican looks set to make an imminent departure from the Emirates having grown frustrated by his lack of first team opportunities under Arsene Wenger.
Following a successful period in Athens and an impressive World Cup campaign with Costa Rica, Campbell had offers to join several top clubs — with Benfica furthest advanced in negotiations — but opted to stay at Arsenal after Arsene Wenger suggested he could be part of his plans this season.
He has so far played just 37 minutes of Premier League football this term, and the final straw came when Arsene Wenger opted to bring on Yaya Sanogo ahead of him as they trailed to Swansea last weekend.
Campbell scored eight goals in 25 League starts as Olympiakos won the title by 17 points from PAOK and scored against Manchester United in their Champions League last-16 tie.
And though he is said to be wanted by a number of sides across Europe, a fee of around £7m is thought to be enough to prize him away.
