GK – Jasmin Handanovic, Maribor – 7.76 rating
The 36-year-old goalkeeper has helped the Slovenian champions to three unlikely draws against Chelsea, Schalke 04 and Sporting Lisbon so far and also saved an Eden Hazard penalty.
RB – Darijo Srna, Shakhtar Donetsk – 8.34
Shakhtar have been performing well so far in the tournament and look certain to reach the knockout stages, with this Croatia international having scored once and provided one assist so far.
CB – Sokratis, Borussia Dortmund – 8.13
Although they have been struggling in the Bundesliga it has been business as usual in Europe for Dortmund and this Greece international has helped the side to three clean-sheets and has also scored.
CB – Nicolas Lombaerts, Zenit St Petersburg – 8.07
Despite a huge influx of money Zenit are yet to truly compete on a European stage, but this underrated Belgian is trying to make it their year this time around with some fine performances.

Despite only rejoining the Blues from Benfica in January this midfielder is already considered a vital part of the team and has also scored two goals in this competition, including the winner against Sporting.
CM – Koke, Atletico Madrid – 8.50
Despite losing Diego Costa, Thibaut Courtois and Filipe Luis to Stamford Bridge over the summer things continue to tick along for Atleti and with two goals and four assists this Spain international looks in fine form.
RM – Eden Hazard, Chelsea – 8.80
Although much has been made of the displays of new signings Costa and Cesc Fabregas, manager Jose Mourinho has still named this 23-year-old as the best player at the club and two goals and one assist helps back that up.
CAM – Yacine Brahimi, FC Porto – 8.61
Caught a few eyes at the World Cup with Algeria, prompting Porto to sign him from Granada and their investment has repaid instantly with Brahimi having scored four times and provided two assists in this tournament already.
LM – Marco Reus, Borussia Dortmund – 8.87
It’s little wonder half of Europe’s elite have been linked with this German as his performances continue to impress and in just two appearances the 25-year-old has two goals and one assist.
ST – Lionel Messi, FC Barcelona – 9.19
Once again the best player in Europe has been this Argentine, who’s four goals have helped him equal Real Madrid legend Raul’s all-time scoring record in the competition at the age of 27-years-old.
