Chelsea are amongst several clubs who were rumoured to have scouts watching the Brazilian attacker in action last night.
Jose Mourinho’s scouts were at the Estadio da Luz last night to watch Brazilian talent Anderson Talisca in action.
According to Sport Witness, which cites the Portuguese press, Chelsea staff were present at Benfica’s 1-0 win over Monaco, in which Talisca was the only goalscorer. While nobody can be certain who they were watching, the Brazilian seems the most likely option.
Mourinho’s interest in the player is well known, and earlier in the year he claimed that the striker would already be in England if it weren’t for work permit issues.

All of Anderson Talisca’s qualities were on display last night, and he showed flashes of brilliance, but his goal was all too easy, as he made a clever run off the back of the defence at a corner before sweeping the bouncing ball into the net.
The goal sealed Benfica’s first win in the Champions League this season – an important result not only for their standing in the group, but also as it was the Portuguese club’s 100th European victory.
