The biggest stories for the Reds on Friday.
Napoli say they are not interested in signing Mario Balotelli from Liverpool
The Serie A club’s sporting director, Riccardo Bigon, has denied claims that the Naples side are looking to sign Balotelli in the January transfer window.
The Italy international has struggled since his £16m summer switch from AC Milan, scoring just twice in 12 matches and has already been linked with a return to his home country.
“It’s a rumour told in Spain, England and Italy but I don’t think it is a possibility,” Bigon was quoted by the Mirror.

Daniel Sturridge gives positive update on his recovery from injury
The striker has not played for the club since injuring his calf whilst on international duty with England back in early September and the Reds have missed his goals.
However, Sturridge has taken to Twitter to reveal to his followers that his rehabilitation is going well and that hopefully he should be back in action soon.
Yet other reports say Sturridge will still miss the next three games
Despite the positivity from the 25-year-old the Mirror reports that the forward will still miss the next three crucial matches for the Merseysiders.
Brendan Rodgers’ men face Newcastle United, Real Madrid and Chelsea in the coming week and Sturridge is expected to be absent from all three fixtures.
With fellow attackers Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini all failing to find form the absence of the England international is even more prominent.
Captain Steven Gerrard is open to a move away from Anfield
The 34-year-old – who has been in first team since progressing from the youth academy back in 1997 – has admitted he could leave the Reds next summer.
Gerrard’s form has noticeably dropped from last term and many doubt whether Rodgers will keep the midfielder on, but the Englishman says he will carry on playing whether on Merseyside or not.
“I won’t be retiring this summer. I will play beyond this season. We will have to wait and see if that’s at Liverpool or somewhere else,” the skipper was quoted by BBC Sport.
Jose Enrique and Suso try to cheer up Balotelli by chanting his song
Although the Italian has only been at Anfield for less than two months the Kop have already adopted a new chant in his honour.
This has now been sung by teammates Enrique and Suso as they take a dip in a swimming pool in a bid to cheer Balotelli up during his slump in form.
