Which exciting young Premier League players are being targeted for big money deals…
Reports in the Sun are linking Southampton with a £10m move for Tottenham’s England Under-21 forward Harry Kane. Another young Englishman, Saido Berahino, 21, has recently been compared to Wayne Rooney – and has been targeted by both Liverpool and Spurs.

The pair are among a host of impressive Premier League players aged 21 or under. With that in mind, CaughtOffside counts down the top ten young players currently playing in England’s top division:

The most expensive teenager of all time, United will be hoping that he becomes a cornerstone of their side for years to come.
5) Calum Chambers (Arsenal)
The third former Southampton player on this list, the teenager has impressed for the Gunners so far this season, and is versatile – being able to play on the right and in the middle.
4) Ross Barkley (Everton)
One of the best players in the Premier League last season. His progress was halted by an injury earlier this year, but he is thankfully back playing now.
3) Adnan Januzaj (Manchester United)
The Belgian burst onto the scene last season, and quickly became regarded as one of the most exception young talents in the world.
2) Romelu Lukaku (Everton)
The Everton striker has been prolific in the Premier League for the last two seasons, and it may come as a surprise to many that the Belgian is still a relative youngster.
1) Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)
The Reds winger has become the club’s most vital player, a reputation only boosted by the departure of Luis Suarez. If he’s treated well, he could be the key man for club and country for a decade.
