As if Liverpool didn’t have enough on their plate when they face Champions League holders Real Madrid at the Bernabeu next week, superstar Welshman Gareth Bale is now likely to return fitness in time for the clash, the Daily Mail reports.

The Reds were humiliated 0-3 by Los Blancos last week, but now face the prospect of facing a Carlo Ancelotti side that will include the world’s most expensive player as well.

Bale’s been out with a gluteus strain, but his legendary Italian boss reckons he’ll be ready by next Tuesday.

“He (Bale) is recuperating well and we will see how he is at the weekend, and if not for Saturday then for the game against Liverpool,” said Ancelotti, who recently found out that he was in the running for the 2014 World Coach of the Year award.

Bale, along with five other Real Madrid players were six of 23 nominees for the Ballon D’or, which highlights the size of Liverpool’s task next week.

While Real Madrid are steamrolling all before them right now, including Barcelona in last weekend’s El Clasico, Liverpool are struggling.

Brendan Rodgers’ side drew 0-0 to Hull on Saturday, and struggled to a League Cup victory on Tuesday evening – and are heavy underdogs for the Champions League tie.
