Football legend and Real Madrid assistant manager Zinedine Zidane has been banned from coaching for three months, reports the Independent.
The former Galactico now works under Carlo Ancelotti for Los Blancos, and has been coaching Castilla (the Real Madrid B-team) this season.
However, as he only holds a Uefa level 2 licence, and not a level 3, he does not have the requirements to do so, and has been suspended from coaching the team as a result.
Zidane was reported to the Competition Committee Judge by Miguel Galan, a representative for Spanish Coaches and head of the National Centre for Developing Coaches, who noted that the World Cup winner was taking charge of Castilla without the relevant qualifications.
Santiago Sanchez, the coach Real Madrid officially named to be in charge of Castilla in order to spare Zidane punishment, has been given a three month ban as well.
It is not yet known whether the 2001 Ballon D’or winner will appeal against the decision.
