Find out who the top ten best buddies in football are. Barcelona and former Arsenal pair included…
When you are playing football regularly with someone for years, rooming with them during away games, and spending most of your life with them, more often than not you are going to form a friendship of some sort with them.
Some of these relationships go far beyond simple friendship however, and blossom into full blown bromances.

Here are the top ten bromances in football:
10) Gareth Bale & Luka Modric
Having played together at Spurs, Luka Modric was the one that helped Gareth Bale to settle in when he initially arrived at Real Madrid.
Bale was never likely to turn down a move to the Spanish capital, but having Modric there made the decision that much easier.
9) Zlatan Ibrahimovic & Maxwell Scherrer
Having played with each other for a number of clubs including both Ajax and PSG, the pair have developed a strong bond.
Ibrahimovic’s ego and arrogance understandably makes it difficult for him to maintain friendships within the game, but Maxwell Scherrer is clearly undeterred.
8) Moussa Dembele & Jan Vergonghen
Having played football together at a very young age, the Belgian pair have been friends since they were kids.
It was apparently Dembele that convinced Vertonghen to come and play in the Premier League, and the compatriots now even play for the same club.
7) Lionel Messi & Manuel Pinto
A somewhat unusual and largely unexplained friendship, these two are extremely close and are regularly pictured together outside of football.
Messi allegedly convinced the board at Barcelona to offer Pinto a new contract at the club, and they could hardly say no to their star man could they.
6) Iker Casillas & Sergio Ramos
The two Spaniards have been at the same club for what seems like forever, both players being loyal Real Madrid servants for over nine years.
They are also international teammates, making their bromance even stronger.
5) Cesc Fabregas & Philippe Senderos
Fabregas and Senderos moved in together during their first season at Arsenal together, and soon became very close.
The Swiss defender allegedly helped Fabregas to overcome the language barrier when he initially moved to England speaking very little English.
Senderos has even referred to his former Spanish teammate as a little brother.
4) Cristiano Ronaldo & Marcelo
The Brazilian full-back helped Ronaldo settle in when he first moved to Real Madrid, with both players sharing a native language.
Their friendship grew from there and the pair have since become very close.
3) Cesc Fabregas & Gerard Pique
Everybody seems to love Fabregas! The two Spaniards were playing together at La Masia youth academy as kids, and Pique was a large part of Fabregas leaving Arsenal to return to Barcelona.
2) Mario Gotze & Marco Reus
Friends since their time together at Dortmund, the pair have been separated since Gotze’s move to Bayern Munich but still remain close.
Reus was very unlucky to miss the entire World Cup after suffering a lengthy injury, but Gotze waved a shirt with his international teammate’s name on it during the celebrations following their win over Argentina.
1) Thiago Silva & David Luiz
Before they made it big the South American pair used to play football together on the streets of Brazil.
They are now the first choice centre-back pair for not only their national side but for PSG as well.
Silva is apparently a large part of the reason Luiz made the switch from Chelsea to the French capital.
