Mexican side and reigning champions Cruz Azul were dramatically dumped out of the CONCACAF Champions League last night after a 1-1 draw with Costa Rican side Alajuelense.
The game was a tense affair, with the Costa Ricans taking the lead after just two minutes through Alonso before being immediately pegged by five minutes later by veteran Torrado.

Cruz Azul couldn’t find the second goal they needed to progress and now face an early exit. The game boiled over at the final whistle, with punches thrown and kicks aimed at opponents.
