6) Klaas-Jan Huntelaar – Schalke
The Dutch ace has scored five goals in twelve appearances so far this season, and is the ultimate poacher. Already being linked to Liverpool, the 31-year-old Schalke frontman would definitely add the goals that Balotelli doesn’t seem able to.
5) Max Kruse – Borussia Monchengladbach
The Borussia Monchengladbach striker has an impressive goal scoring record of five in six Bundesliga appearances so far this season, with two assists as well. He has been linked to Anfield in the past, and at 26 he would offer a long term solution to Liverpool’s current striker problem.
4) Carlos Bacca – Sevilla
The 28-year-old Sevilla forward has been in great form so far this season, with six goals and an assist in eight games so far. The Colombian was linked to Merseyside rivals Everton a while back, but with that having subsided the way should be clear for Brendan Rodgers to make a move.
3) Saido Berahino – West Brom
A more long term replacement than some on this list, 21-year-old Berahino may take a few more years to really flourish. However with five goals in seven Premier League games already this season, the West Brom striker could well be one for Rodgers to keep an eye on in the transfer window.
2) Alexandre Lacazette – Lyon
The 23-year-old Frenchman could be a great replacement for the underperforming Balotelli. Lacazette has scored nine goals in fourteen appearances so far for Lyon this year, with three assists as well.
1) Andre-Pierre Gignac – Marseille
The big Frenchman has been prolific for league leaders Marseille so far this year. With ten goals in ten appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s new project, both Liverpool and Arsenal have already been warned off the forward. However, with the Reds desperate for attacking enforcements they could bid for the striker anyway.
