Liverpool Eyeing Up Electric Hoffenheim Duo To Strengthen Ailing Attack

Reds on the trail of Roberto Firmino and Kevin Volland from Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim.

Liverpool are already preparing their transfer targets for January, it would seem, with the Daily Star reporting that Brendan Rodgers is eyeing up a double swoop on Bundesliga surprise package Hoffenheim for exciting attacking duo Roberto Firmino and Kevin Volland.

Firmino and Volland have perhaps been the best performers for a side who have clawed their way to second in the German top flight, behind Bayern Munich, with both being the bedrock on which Hoffenheim have put together an energetic and exciting young side, known for the sheer number of goals that they smash home.

Brazilian attacking midfielder Firmino is known as one of the most creative players in German football right now, whilst having scored almost 40 Bundesliga goals for Hoffenheim shows that he is just as capable of chipping in with some of his own.

Volland, meanwhile, is a German Under 21 international who could be the long term solution to Joachim Low’s striking woes, although he is also capable of playing out wide – the 22 year-old both scores goals and stretches defences with his lightning pace, something that Liverpool have really lacked in the absence of Daniel Sturridge, who was ruled out with an injury picked up on England duty more than a month ago.
