Germany finally force a way past Ireland’s resistance…
Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has given Germany a 1-0 lead against the Republic of Ireland, with the home side finally getting the goal they deserved with 19 minutes remaining.

The dominance finally paid off for for the hosts in Gelsenkirchen. Kroos was given the time and space to collect the ball and run unchallenged to within 25 yards of the Ireland goal. Kroos then fired a low shot from distance, which went in via the inside of David Forde’s post.
