Manchester United Flop Bebe ‘A Late Bloomer’ Who Will Emulate Chelsea Midfielder

Bebe in action for United

Former United flop gets big vote of confidence.

Former Manchester United flop Bebe has been tipped by Benfica manager Jorge Jesus to be a ‘late bloomer’ and develop into a player of the same quality as Chelsea star Nemanja Matic, according to the Daily Express.

The Portuguese attacker had a notably poor spell at Old Trafford after becoming one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s more bizarre signings, joining the club after only ever being watched by the ex-United boss on video.

Bebe then failed to win a regular place in the side and spent three seasons out on loan before eventually being sold to Benfica this summer, though his current manager is a big fan of his.

Jesus has spoken of Bebe’s lack of youth team football and believes he is still developing, but that he has the potential talent to improve tremendously and emulate Chelsea and former Benfica star Matic.

The Serbian international is another player who didn’t hit the ground running as a youngster at Stamford Bridge, but was re-signed by the Blues this January after he rose to prominence when he became a regular with the Portuguese giants.

Bebe is now being tipped to shine in a similar fashion, with Jesus saying: “Tiago [Bebe] never experienced youth development.

“He was introduced to football late and he lost a lot of time in England.

“Tiago’s development will be equal to Talisca’s, Matic’s and Andre Gomes. They were all late bloomers.”
