Rodgers is well known for his willingness to trust to youth and having signed young talents Emre Can, Divock Origi and Lazar Markovic this summer the Anfield boss is apparently closing in on another star for the future.
The Merseyside outfit are reportedly close to completing the £9m signing of MK Dons teenager Dele Alli according to the Daily Express.
The 18 year old is a much sought after property and his display during MK Dons’ 4-0 win over Man United in the Capital One Cup earlier this season certainly earned him yet more admirers but a move to Liverpool seems to be on the cards.
Rodgers also continues to pursue free agent keeper Victor Valdes with the former Barcelona star’s agent quashing speculation that his client had refused to undergo a trial with the Premier League side according to Sky Sports.
The 32 year old left the Nou Camp at the end of last season and has been sidelined with a cruciate knee ligament injury since March and could be seen by Liverpool as the man to effectively challenge current number one starter Simon Mignolet.
