Cristiano Ronaldo had to leave the field during Portugal’s defeat to France on Saturday, and he wanted the rest of the match with an ice-pack on his knee, the Daily Mail reported.

If the injury keeps him out of action for his club side Real Madrid, they’ll undoubtedly miss the man who’s already scored 15 times this season, but have enough players on the bench to step in and replace the world’s best player.

Here’s how they’ll likely line up.

GK) Keylor Navas

Surely the Costa Rican will be made first-choice following ANOTHER Iker Casillas blunder.

DR) Dani Carvajal

Selected ahead of Alvaro Arbeloa.

DL) Marcelo

The Brazilian starts with Fabio Coentrao on the bench.

DC) Pepe

Pepe is keeping Raphael Varane out of the first-team at the moment.

DC) Sergio Ramos

Ramos is in the top three or four centre-backs in the world, and is an automatic selection.

MC) Toni Kroos

Kroos is gradually improving in Spain, and dictates tempo with his passes.

MC) Luka Modric

One of the most underrated players in the side, the Croatian provides wonderful creativity from the centre.

AMR) Gareth Bale

Bale will be charged with more goalscoring responsibility if Ronaldo is out.

AML) Isco

The superbly talented Spanish playmaker could step into the side on the left wing, Ronaldo’s usual position.

AMC) James Rodriguez

Rodriguez thrives in the central no.10 position.

FC) Karim Benzema

Real Madrid’s spearhead forward will also look to score the goals if Ronaldo isn’t on the field.
