Since he broke into the first team at Stadium:MK last season, Alli has quickly emerged as one of the finest players in the third tier despite his tender years and, in the process, sparked a huge transfer battle between the Premier League’s top clubs, all of whom have dabbled with an interest in Alli at some point.
The four who maintain a genuine interested in Alli, however, are believed to be Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Arsenal – but it is Brendan Rodgers’ Premier League runners-up who are now believed to be in the driving seat to secure Alli’s signature.
The player himself is a Liverpool plan and, whilst United and Arsenal have both had Alli extensively scouted, they are yet to make their move and approach Milton Keynes – something which Liverpool are now ready to do in anticipation of a January deal, although MK are likely to hold out for a deal that allows them to keep Alli until the end of the season as the club push for promotion from League One.
