Although the 26-year-old still has three years left to run on his current deal, Fiorentina are desperate to tie one of their best players down to a better deal to avoid the possibility that he could leave during the January transfer window.
“We’re negotiating,” Prade told reporters. “Both parties are discussing the situation and we want to do everything with the greatest serenity for everyone involved. We are hope to soon find a point of agreement.”
Although Cuadrado is the most high profile player that Fiorentina are in contract discussions with, Prade also admits that there are several other players that La Viola are trying to tie down to new deals.
“We want to reach an agreement with other players, like Neto, [Khouma] Babacar, [Federico] Bernardeschi, [Alberto] Aquilani and [Stefan] Savic.
“Slowly but surely, we will do all of the deals.”
Cuadrado underlined his importance to Fiorentina with a superb goal in the Italian side’s 3-0 victory over Inter Milan at the weekend.
