Zlatan Ibrahimovic Blasts Arsenal Boss But Praises Jose Mourinho

Ibrahimovic not happy with the way he was treated by Arsene Wenger

Paris Saint Germain and Sweden superstar centre forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has criticised Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for the way that he was treated when he went on trial with the club, report the Metro, whilst he has also denied that he was ever close to joining the Gunners.

Ibrahimovic famously went to train with the Gunners before he joined Ajax, but was asked to prove himself before signing a deal, something that did not go down well with the enigmatic forward:

“Today, Wenger says it was a misunderstanding. But I didn’t like being asked to prove myself,’ he said in an interview with the Guardian. I know I’m good enough. I don’t need to show it to you. Either you know who I am or you don’t.”

“I remember being in Wenger’s office and you could tell he was the boss. But I don’t think I was so close. I went to Ajax the next day.”

The Swede has also praised former manager Jose Mourinho, who was involved in a touchline scuffle with Wenger at yesterday’s London derby, for his intelligence and treatment of players:

“Mourinho is very intelligent. He doesn’t treat everybody the same. He knows how to treat people as individuals to get 100% out of them.
