Five reasons Arsenal are about to go on a fantastic winning run…
After Arsenal’s disappointing, but fairly predictable, 2-0 loss against Chelsea on the weekend, the Gunners appear on first glance to be struggling down in 8th position. If you look more carefully however, there are a number of reasons for Arsenal fans to be positive heading into the next few fixtures.

Here are five reasons that suggest Arsenal are about to go on a brilliant winning run:
5) No clashes against rival teams
Arsenal have been notoriously bad against the big teams as of late, with last season’s 6-0 and 6-3 thrashings by Chelsea and Manchester City respectively leaving the Gunners at rock bottom.
Arsene Wenger may not be thrilled by the fact that his side only managed one point in two games against the current league leaders and runners up so far, but he can at least rest easily knowing he won’t be meeting them again anytime soon. They don’t face a ‘big’ Premier League outfit until the end of November.
A small consolation, but with Arsenal’s record against the two sides it is still a positive.
4) The return of the speed demon
Arsenal are plagued with injuries at the moment, and it is certainly not an unusual circumstance that the Gunners find themselves in.
Arsene Wenger is famous for his “like a new signing” quotes, and while it may be a bit of a cliche, the Frenchman is not entirely wrong.
Theo Walcott is expected back after the upcoming international break, and his pace and vastly improved finishing had become a key part of Arsenal before his untimely injury last season.
With Arsenal’s deadline day signing Danny Welbeck flanked by Alexis Sanchez on one wing and Walcott on the other, the Gunners will have pace to burn going forward and will be a frightening prospect for any team.
It’s unwise to rely too much on one player, but the reintroduction of the English speedster could drastically change Arsenal’s season for the better.
3) Premier League fixtures
After a fairly mixed opening set of fixtures, Arsenal are set for a relatively easy run by Premier League standards. Matches against Hull, Sunderland, Burnley, Swansea, Manchester United, and West Bromwich Albion before the end of November are all perfectly winnable, and a solid run in the league from the Gunners could easily see them shoot up the table.
They have arguably the easiest run of the top teams in the coming weeks, so it is a great chance for the North London club to gain some ground on their rivals as well.
Currently 8th in the league but just a point off fourth place, one or two wins on the trot would see Arsenal easily back into contention for the top four.
2) Champions League Fixtures
Success breeds success, and luckily for Arsenal their easiest Champions League fixtures coincide nicely with their great domestic league run.
With Anderlecht sandwiching Burnley and Sunderland the Gunners could garner a huge amount of confidence heading into some of their more difficult matches and really take their European group by the scruff of the neck.
After Danny Welbeck’s hat-trick led Arsenal to a dominant win over Turkish side Galatasaray last week, they should already be in a confident mood heading to Belgium. Back-to-back wins will be vital if they are to have any hope of challenging Borussia Dortmund for that all important top spot, which history has shown they have to do.
1) Team cohesion
The Gunners’ game relies heavily on almost telepathic understanding, quick passing and movement, and even more so than most teams, excellent teamwork.
Alexis Sanchez has looked bright since joining in the summer, but it is clear that he will become far more deadly once he begins to gel fully with the rest of the team.
He may find it somewhat easier than the Chilean, but the same goes for former Manchester United man Danny Welbeck.
Arsenal are synonymous with one-touch passing, bouncing off each other with quick one-twos, and beautiful team goals crafted through unbelievable football. Once the new players better their understanding with the veteran members of the squad we could see an Arsenal firing on all cylinders again.
