With the January transfer window approaching, speculation is hotting up that there could be some big-name moves in the middle of the season, with Europe’s biggest clubs still chasing more signings after a busy summer.

Below are some of the most high-profile transfer rumours involving midfielders for the January transfer window, with Premier League giants Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United expected to be active in strengthening in that part of the pitch.
11) Sami Khedira (Real Madrid)
Having been linked with Arsenal throughout much of the summer transfer window, it now looks as though Sami Khedira has agreed on a move to the Emirates Stadium in January. The German international would make an excellent addition for Arsene Wenger’s side in what has been a problem position for the club in recent times, and it now appears that the 27-year-old is ready to confirm his exit from Real Madrid after repeatedly turning down the chance to sign a new contract at the Bernabeu.
10) Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)
With Liverpool struggling to persuade exciting youngster Raheem Sterling to sign a new contract at Anfield, it is now reported that Paris Saint-Germain could offer him a big-money move to Ligue 1, with Real Madrid also having previously been linked with the highly promising England international winger.

Having been a target for Tottenham Hotspur throughout much of the summer, Southampton will now hope to fight off interest in French midfield general Morgan Schneiderlin by offering him a new contract to fight off interest from top clubs and see him commit his future to the St Mary’s outfit.
8) Marek Hamsik (Napoli)
Liverpool are thought to be keen to strengthen their struggling side with the signing of Napoli midfield ace Marek Hamsik, though the Italian giants are understandably deseperate to keep the classy Slovakian at the club, with former Reds boss Rafael Benitez valuing the player highly as part of his first-team.
7) Adrien Rabiot (Paris Saint-Germain)
Having rejected a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Liverpool and AS Roma all look set to battle it out for the signing of talented young midfielder Adrien Rabiot in the January transfer window. A superb prospect, it is no surprise to see so much interest in the 19-year-old as he looks set to quit his current employers.
6) Juan Cuadrado (Fiorentina)
A long-time target for Manchester United, Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado looks increasingly likely to be on his way out of the club this January after becoming increasingly frustrated with ongoing contract talks with the Serie A giants. Having established himself as one of the best wingers in Europe last season, the Colombian international will no doubt make an exciting signing if United do get him this season.
5) Julian Draxler (Schalke)
Having tried and failed to sign him last January, Schalke’s exciting young attacking midfielder Julian Draxler is reportedly back on Arsenal’s radar again for this year, with the Gunners recently sending scouts to watch the 21-year-old German playmaker in action in the Champions League with the view to bidding for him in the next transfer window.
4) Sebastian Giovinco (Juventus)
Currently unsettled due to not being first choice at Juventus, Italian playmaker Sebastian Giovinco is said to be another top target for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for the upcoming January transfer window. The attacking midfielder could also be joined by Marseille striker Andre Pierre Gignac.
3) Kevin Strootman (AS Roma)
AS Roma are reportedly ready to listen to offers for Dutch playmaker Kevin Strootman, who could be set to make a £40m move to Manchester United after being courted by his fellow countryman Louis van Gaal. The 24-year-old may be about to be replaced by Mario Suarez at the Stadio Olimpico, allowing the club to sell him for a massive profit.
2) Arturo Vidal (Juventus)
A player who could cost as much as £52m, Arturo Vidal is again being linked with Manchester United after looking like leaving Juventus for a move to Old Trafford for so much of the summer transfer window. The Chilean international would make a superb signing for the Red Devils in the middle of the park, even if he will be one of the most expensive players on the market this January.
1) Yaya Toure (Manchester City)
One of the best midfielders in the world, there is no escaping that Yaya Toure has not found his best form for Manchester City this season, with the club reportedly concerned that he wants to leave the Etihad Stadium in the near future. Although no specific clubs have been linked so far, it may be that the Premier League champions will be losing one of their best players this January.
