Liverpool looking to spend big in January to deal with void left by Luis Suarez.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, along with those that occupy the corridors of power at Anfield, have drawn up a three-man shortlist of world class attacking stars as the Reds look to truly fill the void left by the summer departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.

Despite signing Mario Balotelli this summer, a recent injury to Daniel Sturridge has highlighted the lack of quality depth in the Liverpool frontline, something that Rodgers is looking to address with one of these three:
Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, after the France international received a barrage of criticism from Real supports after his slow start to the season, which contributed to a lackluster couple of weeks from Carlo Ancelotti’s side. The report suggests that Liverpool are lining up a £40 million move to try and secure the signature of Benzema, but the fact that he recently signed a new deal in Madrid, coupled with Liverpool’s UEFA investigation over a potential breach of Financial Fair Play regulations, could scupper the deal.
Ezequiel Lavezzi (Paris Saint Germain)
The second top class attacking talent to be linked with Anfield is Paris Saint Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi – but the Reds could face competition from across Europe for the Argentinian international as his contract at the Parc des Princes begins to wind down towards its completion. Lavezzi has never quite found the form in Paris that he once displayed with Napoli, perhaps due to the fact that he has always been behind the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani when it comes to being the main man in attack – something that could, potentially, be different on Merseyside.
Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)
The final option for Rodgers is another player who is attracting admiring glances from across the continent, with Marcos Reus likely to be on the move from Borussia Dortmund next summer after seemingly informing the club that he is not interested in extending his deal. With a buyout clause allowing him to be bought at a reasonable price also apparently activated next summer, he could be an affordable option for the likes of Liverpool – as long as they can beat off illustrious competition and convince Reus that Anfield is the place to be.
